The mission of the Brown County Community Development Office is to secure federal, state and local funding for community development activities, to provide leadership in coordinating these activities, and to ensure continued funding through the accountable, efficient and effective use of these funds in serving low- to moderate-income residents throughout Brown County The office seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons. The primary means towards this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations. Chip Program - Largely the purpose of this program is to assist Low to Moderate Income level families with needed repairs to their homes and to rebuild Brown County’s housing stock. The funding for these activities is provided by the Ohio Department of Development Office of Housing and Community Partnerships. Click here for an overview of each of the activities.
