The Waterloo Wonders
The Waterloo WondersSaturday, March 7th from 11 am to 1 pm Dick Burdette, author or The Waterloo Wonders will be at the Union Township Public Library, 27 Main Street, Ripley, OH.

The Waterloo Wonders were a high school basketball team from the small rural community of Waterloo, Lawrence County, Ohio—During the Great Depression, a small team of boys with a great coach went on to win back to back state championships, and were so magically good they played against college teams to sold out crowds. Mr. Burdette met with the players decades ago, and has updated his book on this amazing team who practiced in barns and created their own ‘Harlem Globetrotter” style during their reign between 1933-1935. The Wonders did visit and play against Ripley’s team as well as Augusta, KY. Books will be available for purchase after the talk and a question and answer session. Questions?
