Ohio’s Appalachian Country will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Spotlight on Appalachia Ohio: Arts, Music & Travel Show on March 20th and 21st at the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville, OH. This annual event highlights the Appalachian region of Ohio and the many people, places, events and attractions located in the area and offering unique experiences for both leisure and group travelers. Brown County has been part of this show each year and will again this year.

32nd Annual Appalachian Studies Conference
The 32nd Annual Appalachian Studies Conference will be held at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth March 27 – 29. The theme of the conference is “Connecting Appalachia and the World through Traditional and Contemporary Arts, Crafts and Music

The conference highlights the wealth of traditional and contemporary arts, crafts, and music of Appalachia and how they connect the region with the world. It examines their relationships with the environment and the economy; identity, image, and community; heritage and culture; art and the artist; tradition and change; and theory and action.
