Kevin StonerockBook this date! Friday, July 17th on Rankin Hill—the Friends of the Library’s annual potluck dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. and Kevin Stonerock begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Library are pleased to present Kevin Stonerock as this year’s ‘Event on the Hill’ performer, regaling the audience A grand adventure of story, song and first person living history about life on the Ohio River from the frontier era through the glorious age of steam, with special emphasis on the showboats. In addition to song and story, the audience will meet four rollicking river characters (portrayed by Kevin), including a keelboat man, a steamboat passenger on the J. M. White, a showboat barker from the 1890's and steamboat captain Ebenezer Cline.

THE MT. ORAB WOMEN’S CLUB WILL SPONSOR (ALONG WITH THE AMERICAN VOLKSSPORT ASSOCIATION - XENIA WALKING CLUB) A “FALL RALLY - WALK FOR HEALTH” EVENT ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19,2009 AT THE “MT. OREB DEPOT!”

THE EVENT WILL RUN 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. THE WALKERS WILL MEET AT THE VILLAGE PARK AND THEN PROCEED THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO VARIOUS OTHER AREAS OF MT. ORAB INCLUDING THE HISTORIC “MT. OREB DEPOT.” THE “DEPOT” WILL BE OPEN BEGINNING AT 9:00 AM TO WELCOME THE PUBLIC AND THE WALKERS! THIS IS A COMMUNITY EVENT - ALL BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS ARE INVITED! THE THEME OF THE DAY IS “WESTERN” - AS YOU ARRIVE AT THE DEPOT YOU WILL BE GREETED BY THE CLUB MEMBERS - YOU WILL BE SITTING ON BALES OF STRAW, TAKING TOURS OF TIlE DEPOT AND BE ENTERTAINED WITH “GREAT MUSIC” THE MT ORAB WOMEN’S CLUB WILL PROVIDE FREE GRILLED HOT DOGS, CHIPS, TEA & LEMONADE AND WATER.
